Are You Asking the Right Questions?

Share:
Your initial phone conversation with a customer is crucial. You want to ask the right questions to get the clearest picture of the situation possible. Make a checklist and ask the following questions as suggested in the IICRC S500:
What is the source and condition of the water?
When did the damage occur?
Do you own or lease the property (insurance information)?
What steps have been taken to repair or eliminate the source?
Which areas are affected (number of rooms, size)?
How much furniture is present in the affected areas (possible staining, personnel requirements)?
Has there been previous water damage (source, extent, and was any remediation performed)?
Get answers to these questions and you’ll have a solid starting point for the job!
